The project involved building renovation and the conversion of a craft building to residential use. The courtyard becomes the heart of the project, an open atrium where all the rooms of the house overlook. The patio as an “open-air room” is connected to the living area with large sliding doors and windows. The windows guarantee natural light in the winter months, while in summer they expand the space ensuring a total relationship of continuity between inside and outside. The full-height windows of the courtyard and the large sliding windows of the patio contribute to creating a relationship of continuity between the interior and exterior and to integrate the inhabited space with the natural elements. For this realization, the Armonia-S aluminum thermal break windows and doors were used.
